In July 2025, the crude steel production of 70 countries/regions included in the World Steel Association statistics was 150.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.3%.

Crude Steel Production by Region

In July 2025, Africa's crude steel production was 1.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.0%; Asia and Oceania's crude steel production was 110.4 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%; the EU (27 countries) crude steel production was 10.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.0%; other European countries' crude steel production was 3.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%; the Middle East's crude steel production was 4.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 27.7%; North America's crude steel production was 9.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%; Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine's crude steel production was 6.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.1%; South America's crude steel production was 3.6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.5%.

Top Ten Countries by Crude Steel Production

In July 2025, China's crude steel production was 79.66 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.0%;

India's crude steel production was 14 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.0%;

Japan's crude steel production was 6.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.5%;

The United States' crude steel production was 7.1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%;

Russia's estimated crude steel production was 5.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.4%;

South Korea's crude steel production was 5.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.7%;

Turkey's crude steel production was 3.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%;

Germany's crude steel production was 2.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 13.7%;

Brazil's estimated crude steel production was 2.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.5%;

Iran's crude steel production was 2.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 29.7%.
